Rating: 5.0/5.0 stars

A late release of songs which were recorded between the dates of September 4, 1962 until January 4, 1970 and beyond. The song list is immense, and contains many of The Beatles' amazing hits. They have a wide selection of moods and songs, as well. I find that combined with the Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album on my iPod, the two CD's alone are great for any mood.

The disk is great for any Beatles fan, from young to old, and from a fan to a seasoned fanatic. Containing obscure songs suck as Old Brown Shoe, Ballad of John and Yoko, and The Inner Light, and some more well-known songs such as Let it Be and Day Tripper. Now if only I could get my hands on Mono Masters, because that CD has Hey Bulldog on it... Stupid iTunes versus Beatles legal argument. Hmph.

Value and Worth

Value and Worth rating: 5.0 stars
Dammit! Just look at the list of songs! Look at it! There's...thirty two songs on two CD's. Now, how much was this? Well, not much. $20.00. Yes, only twenty US Dollars. That's pretty impressive for this collection of songs. It lacks a few of the essentials, such as Hey Bulldog and With A Little Help From My Friends. Though it might not appeal completely to casual Beatles fans, especially with some of their stranger songs such as You Know My Name, but it is an amazing set of songs.

And this entire collection is just awesome. It's not a bunch of snippets. It's the complete song for all of them, most of which are taken straight from their original record forms. Past Masters: The Beatles is most definitely not a rip off.

Audio Quality

Audio Quality Rating: 5.0 stars
Now, you must bear in mind that many of these songs, such as Across the Universe and Day Tripper are from their original record albums. This means that the entire CD has a varied range of audio quality. For example, Let it Be has amazing audio quality, though Day Tripper has a rather rustic quality to it. Don't turn this album up too loud when using headphones, as some of the songs tend to get a little whack when it comes to their audio... Yeah... Just a little tip.

However, considering many of these songs were pulled from record tapes and audio tapes, the quality is top-notch. It's not perfect, but if you were thinking it was, you're whack. That's like saying that a photo sitting out in the rain for one hundred years will come back inside without any damage. Yeah, right. Just a nice pluck on the head. Have fun with that.

Song Selection/Tracks

Song Selection/Tracks Rating: 5.0 stars
This album has a wide variety of songs, as you can see. This means that you have a wide range of possibilities. You want my advice? These aren't all of the songs. You want to get the most out of The Beatles? Check into buying the Love Me Do and Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band albums to accompany this collection. Alone, however, this CD has many of the Beatles Essentials. Such as Let it Be, Day Tripper, and Hey Bulldog. The addition of the German singles was also nice.
