DraconicArcania Hideout

Rating: 5.0 Stars

Okay, so, let's be honest here. This toy is most definitely NOT for anyone kid under ten. I mean, look at the damn price tag! It's a collector's item! And while I do say under ten, I also say over ten is perfectly fine as well! This toy comes with it all! I own one myself and love it to death, as I lost my old 1995 Vintage Woody. >.< Damn...that thing was worth a lot of money. Anyway, it's produced by Thinkway Toys, China and distributed by Disney.

Features

To be honest here, I was a bit skeptical when it came to the features of this guy. I mean, most of them are NOT from the original, and I was afraid that they'd fail big time stuffing all the features this guy has into him, but it seems I was wrong! Let's start with the usually empty promises that the box says.
#PULL STRING TO HEAR ORIGINAL SAYINGS
#OVER 50 SAYINGS (When combined with PLAY mode)
#TRUE TO FILM DETAILS
#TALK TO WOODY AND HE'LL TALK BACK!
#COMES WITH CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY!
So, yeah, all in all, that's a crapload of features. So, let's address them one by one.

1. Pull string to hear original sayings
I've heard a lot of bull about Woody not saying anything when his string is pulled, and I also know that the voice is not Tom Hanks, but it is quite similar to Hanks' voice. Now, as for the pull string issues, I found no problems with my Woody. I got mine from Target. Anyway, the pull string works perfectly fine with me, maybe the issue was people bought it too early and Disney/Thinkway Toys hadn't worked out all the kinks. I dunno'.

2. Over 50 sayings (When combined in PLAY mode)
Again, true. Actually, Woody's probably got way more than 50 sayings, but hey, they don't lie when they said over fifty. I haven't counted, nor do I plan to, but it seems he says a hell of a lot of stuff.

3. True to film details
True, insanely true. The only innacuracies that I can spot are his face. Andy's had a closed mouth with wide open eyes, yet this Woody has an open mouth with slightly closed eyes. Ah well, not a major issue. Maybe they were trying to make it more "lifelike," who knows? Still, it feels like he just jumped from Woody's Roundup (which reminds me, you gotta' check out the box, too. Keep it, it makes the toy all the more authentic!) into my hands!

4. Talk to Woody and he'll talk back!
Yup, he sure will! He knows when you're yelling or questioning something, and responds accordingly. However, unfortunately, that's about the only thing he correctly responds to, as all of the other responses are totally irrelevant to what you're saying half the time. However, it still is fun to play with, nonetheless!

5. Comes with certificate of authenticity
Well...it does...nothing much to say about it. xD

Pros

So...onto this part...your basic pros...
+Beautifully made
+Quite durable
+Amazing replica
+Perfect ragdoll body
+Arms and legs are just floppy enough to be like Andy's, but not enough to be spaghetti
+Bendable hat like in movie
+Hair has painted highlights (never seen that in a woody toy before...)
+Outfit is amazing
+Soft and lovable!
+Fun to play with for kids and adults!
+Adds some nostalgia to wherever you display it (collectors)
+Amazing Woody's Roundup box (well...minus the giant Toy Story logo that kills the effect of old TV show...)
+Really does come with all the original phrases

Cons

~He wasn't voiced by Tom Hanks, so some phrases sound off
~Batter pack is located...well...it's shoved down into his pants...
~Battery pack is nearly inaccesable
~Putting batteries in feel like you're violating him...erm...sexually, at least I think
~The spurs make him impossible to sleep with if you wanted to
~A few loose strings...don't pull them...big holes will appear (I have loose strings, but I'm not dumb enough to pull them...)
~Box has giant Toy Story logo on it...again...kill the effect, Disney. >.<
~Display stand leaves a dent in his neck (No, I don't use it. I've heard of the problem)
~Responds irrelevantly (though it gets quite amusing)
